Hey there. I was wondering if anyone saw the Glimpse Affinity build that made top 8 in Indiana @ Champs. I saw it. Looks pretty good.
What'd I tell you? Glimpse is Beeeeeeee-roken!!
4 Seat of the Synod
4 Darksteel Citadel
4 Tree of Tales
4 Vault of Whispers
2 Glimmervoid
4 Arcbound Worker
4 Arcbound Ravager
2 Somber Hoverguard
4 Ornithopter
4 Disciple of the Vault
4 Frogmite
4 Myr Enforcer
4 Chrome Mox
4 Glimpse of Nature
4 Cranial Plating
4 Thoughtcast
Granted, it's not the exact build I had/have, but who cares. Glimpse is wicked awesome. Nyah nyah, I was right! |

Right. Are you stupid?
One Glimpse Affinity in one top 8, while there were 100+ non-glimpse affinities in multiple top 8's. Good job, you really picked out the better version. |

Rick,
why must you ask questions you already know the answers to? |

| I'd tend to agree. A mono-white samurai deck Top 8 somewhere. Doesn't mean we should go around playing some janky-ass mono white samurai deck. It was just a fluke, and chances are, the guy boarded out the Glimpses in every matchup besides the non-existant control matchups. Chances are, the way he won was by saying "Oh wait, screw glimpse, attack for the win!" |

No wait, hear Jacois out. The deck is actually good. Basically you hold back all you creatures till you draw your glimpse, which reliably comes on turn 7 so then, you tap ur tree for glimpse, then play all the guys you held back the whole game. Basically you're trading the win for 5 cards.
.....
On second thought, This deck sucks.
Jacois there is no way to defend this deck versus any other version of affinity. |

| True. I do tend to feel really awful when I shove a disciple or a thoughtcast or a shrap blast under that mox. |

Doesn't look too horrible, though it isn't as powerful as, lets say, vial affinity.
When COK came out, i saw someone testing out a semi glimpsed out version of Affinity. He managed to do the following:
Tree of tales
Glimpse
Othoper
Othoper
Othoper
Frogmite
Frogmite
Othoper
Enforcer
It was amazin, but if you stall then you'r screwed for the turn. Though you would need an amazin hand to pull this off. I think Glimpse may have some field play but only time will tell. _________________

hmm. personally, i think it could end up helping green thin out draws a bit. MAYBE in block. honestly, i think the block constructed wont be as shaken cuz there wont be affinity. So thers more chance that "jank" cards will see more play. _________________ The difference between a wiseman and a fool, is the wiseman learns from his mistakes. |

Actually, your joke was half right. Against R/G Freshmaker, I would do just that come the 2nd game. After sideboarding, I could conceivably have 12 card drawers not including the Glimpse. (Chromatic Sphere, Thoughtcast, Nights Whisper) I could also conceivably have 4 Citadels, 4 Glimmervoids, and 4 Nexus'. The 12 card drawers could fill my hand with creatures and hopefully net me a glimpse. On turn 4, exposive mayhem commences. No R/G deck would be able to keep up to 5 creatures in one turn plus a hand full of cards.
Of course, that's just one example. One example which you helped me to prove. Thank you for your support. |

the only good thing about the glimpse is playing multiples in a turn then dropping your creatures
glimpse wants to be skullclamp, but its never going to be
i wouldnt be suprised if theres a glimpse/tangleroot combo deck around somewhere.....lmao _________________ I make music, you like music |

Once again you proved your own incompetence. If you're not playing guys against freshmaker, do you know what they are going to target with their oxidzes and shamans, and justices? Yeah, your lands. I hear you need those to play guys. |

This deck does look like a lot of fun. The problem is, it seems like it would scoop to any mirror match. Are you gonna side in some Oxidize and Shaman while still playing Nothing? So, when they kill you on turn 4, its kool, cause the next turn, you were about to go off.
