Hello.
Not sure what is prompting me to write this, since a) I didn't money and b) I'm not a recognized name or anything but the trip had some sweet stories and I enjoy reading other people's reports on here so hopefully this appeals to some of you.

Nationals is less than a month away from us. As one the most important events of a year, it's very important to remind youself about things you normally may not pay attention to, and know some of the common rules questions before the event.

Heading into Canadian Nationals 2006, I had been playing some of the best Magic of my life. I had played at two PTs already in the season, doing respectably (3-3) in Prague and not so respectively (our team went 1-4 with a bye) in Charleston.

Canadian Nationals this year was, for me, a continuation of a year of very good Magic. I have previously told about how I managed to place in the money at GP: Boston, and after Extended season wrapped up I was left with a Constructed rating of 1940. With that in hand, I only needed to get my Limited rating up a bit in order to qualify for Nats on rating. I achieved that feat a month later, when I made it to the finals of a GP Trial for Detroit, selling the byes to Evan Dean as I was planning on judging there rather than playing.

Every scrub wants to grind in to Nationals... could my Ponza deck get me past day one?

As the head of the Bad Play Department, I managed to cast Grab the Reins game 1 and lose. Then in game 2 I had a Grab and a Fireball in the graveyard but still did not come out victorious. Who's the man?

Thinking I needed a 3-2-1 in order to play on Sunday, I figured that I'd probably have to settle for one win in this pod against one of the weaker players and then take it from there in the Constructed portion. The goal was to avoid Gary, Gab and Elijah if possible.

I started playing Magic in 1995 when I pulled a Sand Silos out of a $4 pack of Fallen Empires that my grandmother bought me. I immediately high-fived the nearest person when I checked Scrye and saw it listed at $5. A one dollar profit just like that.

Rumours had surfaced of a restaurant with very cheap food. I was sold, my interest was sparked! On a Magic players budget I couldn't say no. Little did I know what I was getting into.

Every aspiring young mageling must begin his foray into the world of competitive Magic at some point. For me this happened, well, about two weeks ago now; sorry for the late report.
